Fri 13th (Barcelona)

Very early start for all, bet meant we had a couple of hours spare in the afternoon to hit the beach - i missed the picture of swimming in the sea
Image

Image

Sound check provided a chance to look at all the other band's kit, including LCD and PJ Harvey
Image

The festival site in Barcelona was amazing. A huge space overlooking the sea. Here is the main stage (Lily Allen was on)
Image

Bromheads played a stormer. The tent filled up nicely as the gig went on
Image

Image

Post gig we explored the site and had some beers - this is Chris, Bromheads sound tech
Image

Chris and Jono love each other really
Image

A bit later in the evening, Lily Allen arrived, looking for Bromheads insisting she was a huge fan and loved What If's & Maybes
Image

And then an early night, ready for...

SAT 14TH - MADIRD

A nice leisurely wake up and trip to the airport.
We shared a flight with Bloc Party, Guillemots, PJ Harvey, Lily Allen, The Hidden Cameras and various other bands, to which Jono took delight in making a comparison to Buddy Holly's last ever flight...
Image

The Madrid venue was like being in the desert. 40oc = too hot.
Here was their stage / airline hanger
Image

And this was a roadie making the most of his sleeping space under the stage
Image

Pre-gig
Image

Mid-gig (during a shout to Mrs G to wish her a happy birthday)
Image

Post-gig
Image

As an aside, Chris and I were dancers for the Flaming Lips. This was amazing, expect we had to wear full santa outfits on stage for an hour, i nearly passed out
Image

Here's an extra couple of beard shots
Image

Image

And finally we headed back towards our hotel at a late hour
Image

Giles was not going to loose the glasses for anyone
Image

SUNDAY 15th - HOME

And a finally shot for the long (and hungover) trip home
Image

And Tim took this video which i think you should have a look at

how cool is this.

bromheads jacket ran a competition when they released the album last year called 'bromheads in your bedroom comp' basically meaning that if you won you could have them play in your house, or local pub, bar etc etc. my mate just won off the bromheads forum, no doubt he will have hundreds of pm's asking to come.
