i saw kooks yesterday at Motorokrfest in Mexico but i was kinda late so i just heard a couple of songs, they were ok

im from the states, and nobody here knows them =[
its actually nice in a way though, i went to a show of theirs in october and it was small, so i got to meet luke and their newest bassist pete =]
paul is my favourite but he was out due to his injury..anyways im new to this forum and im glad people on here appreciate the kooks =D

it's nice when nobody know them, i remember when nobody knew arctic monkeys here in mexico it was really cool, but know everybody knows them :?

i know what you mean,it's the same here in croatia. but the people who know about them are mostly teenagers a few years younger than me.it's probably because they're more exposed in the media (teenage magazines) now that they're famous world wide. and since no one from my generation reads those things,they find them to be just another one of those popular teenage bands. it really frustrating trying to explain them the real value and even complexity of AM's music.
and another thing, i kinda get the feeling that most of the kids listening to AM here in croatia like them just because they're famous and they look "cool" if they listen to them.that kinda sucks. i hope it's just a feeling i have and not the truth. :?

oh, yeah, i know how that is. most people around here have terrible taste in music, and half of the kids listening to good music are just doing it to be cool.
