Alex/Lightspeed Champion play Reptilia

Postby josefettwalker » Fri Jan 25, 2008 12:32 am

Hey i found this in dominorecordsco.com

To celebrate the launch of his debut album; 'Falling Off The Lavender Bridge' out this week - Lightspeed Champion AKA Dev Hynes pulled together a stellar line up of friends to play a one-off covers show at White Heat on Tuesday night.

Performing as the Pun Loving Criminals made up from members of Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man, Ipso Facto, Semi-Finalists, The Rascals well as a surprise guest appearance by Arctic Monkeys main man; Alex Turner.

Treating the surprised and delighted few to renditions of 'C'mon C'mon' by the Von Bondies, 'Slow Hands' and 'NYC' by Interpol, 'The Rat' by the Walkmen and Dev introducing 'Get Free' by the Vines saying "I remember watching CD:UK and the presenter saying this band are going to be bigger than The Beatles and Nirvana combined. They were right!". All that and then, Alex joining the band for a scintillating version of 'Reptilia' by The Strokes which you can see below courtesy of of White Heat.

Dev is a massive legend.
Go ahead and play the blues if it makes you happy.
