One album per year

Postby Gangster » Fri Mar 14, 2008 7:03 pm

I read somewhere that Arctic Monkeys would try to release a new album every year. They wouldn't let the fans wait for more than a year between each album. So, their first album was released in January 2006, their second in April 2007 (a bit delayed) and their third should soon be made (at least before the summer (I think :))). They said they wouldn't be like Coldplay, and release an album every third year. So what are they waiting for? Alex Turner is apparently full of new song and text ideas too! I can't wait :(

Probably later in the year Autumn/Winter-ish with an EP before it, but there's nothing bad about a two year wait between albums really, it's the norm for most bands.
Go ahead and play the blues if it makes you happy.

I would prefer an album a year. If they did two years I think they'd need to release an EP and a single or two in the mean time to keep me ticking over. Once you get a taste of musical perfection its hard to wait two years for the next release....

So do you guys think that some of the new songs like The Fire and the Thud or Terror Pocket would make it on to the new albulm then?

I hope Terror Poket and The fire and the Thud will be on the album or at least on an EP or something. They're really good, especially Terror Pocket. I love it! I can't wait so long for a new album :( I really thought they would make an album every year, like announced...

well its not label pressure like with oasis,
if the boys have got material they should go for it
they all say that during sound checks and everything theyre constantly writing and making up new stuff.
;)
i can't wait!
although, it won't be oot before summer i don't think.
back end of the year, they don't wanna rush it.
and alex has got the last shadows puppet album bizziness and that'll run up to the summer probs.
"this one's called separate and ever shut the fuck up"
"are you big nige?"
"might be..."
;)
"is it your birthday?! oh, happy birthday!"

The Last Shadow Puppets debut single entitled 'The Age Of The Understatement' will be released on Monday 14th April 2008. The album, of the same name, will follow a week later on Monday 21st April.

Looking at that, they'll probably be touring it for a while too throughout summer... so a winter album release seems like a good estimate :)

The new interview says that they have no plans to release their third albulm this year... Seems a long while to wait if you ask me.
