The Arctic Monkeys Conspiracy theory!! Alex is fake?

Postby arctic » Wed Apr 26, 2006 1:05 pm

Read this Article by the Guardian. I have never heard of anything like this before.
I know it's 100% bollocks and he has got it all wrong as I have been a fan since they were playing to 100 people in Sheffields teeny clubs and bars.

Anyway, you will need to register but it is well worth it because it makes for an interesting read. Don't have a go at the writer as they aren't saying this is true, they are merely speculating...

interesting theory, would be the sort of thing music executives would do to generate money and exploit new technology and even if it were true I would still be a fan of AMs.

Just as well its bullshit
And how could you wake up,
With someone you don't love,
And not feel slightly phased by it?

i think u mis-understand.....the guy was speculating and there was a story a few years back when s club 7 were caught on the spliffs. he was saying that conspiracy theorists would like to believe that it was a PR scam but that it was actually a case where they were busted properly.

The AMs aint a fake BUT he was saying that people may speculate that they are a media creation, designed to take advantage of the online music culture, in order to generate more money for myspace and the likes.

He aint slagging them off, dont worry

The only thing that I would suggest would contribute to this "conspiracy theory" is the band name. "Jamie just always wanted to be in a band called the Arctic Monkeys," didn't they say something like that for the explaniation once? That's just completely hilarious, so funny that it must be true.

But yeah, you have to expect this kind of shit. As soon as something beautiful comes about, there's always going to be people waiting with criticism to try and ruin it for us. It's depressing, but typical.

By the way, this journo's biggest reference to back this theory up is the album cover, and that in itself is just sad.

Interesting..........

I knew it would stir things up. It's a cool idea to think they are fake and have been invented by a record label but there is no way in hell that this kind of thing is possible. If they didn't play as many live dates then I'd understand because they could be scared?

You can't possibly build a band on lyrics alone, so I don't believe it.

Nice idea tho :D I love it!
