Live at Rolling Stone, Milan

Postby vodkapizza » Mon Jul 17, 2006 2:10 pm

Been meaning to post something for a while, just haven't had chance to! :D

Gave up trying to get tickets to see the guys in the UK (and refused to pay the ridiculous prices on eBAY) and managed to get some for the Rolling Stone in Milan. Fantastic venue (even though £7 a pint was a bit steep...stcik with the vodka & coke, it's only about £4.50!) and good to see them in such a small place.

The band played fantastically, and chose all of the right material. Only slight reservations:-

Alex looked a bit grumpy and seemed to be 'going through the motions' a bit

The ending was very abrupt: 'A Certain Romance' followed by house lights up straight away. I guess the guys don't believe in encores, but it was a bit of an anticlimax

The set was a bit short....an hour max, and they probably could have squeezed in a few more....

That said, it was still worth the trip and I'm looking forward to seeing them at Leeds Festival soon...

Cheers!

Afraid not....I was tempted to take the camera, but a bit worried it might get lost in the mosh!

Looks as though the one-hour set and no encores is a normal thing (reading the other threads). 'A Certain Romance is a good way of finishing the shows, but I think they should now think about stretching the set a bit more, as they've got quite a bit more material now

Does anyone know if they play 'Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts' any more?
