Arctic Monkeys at Hull Arena!!

Yeah, they were pretty much amazing. Sorry, they were amazing.

Support bands were Reverend and the Makers as you all know and the Little Flames. The Reverend played "He said he loved me" "Heavy Weight Champion of the World" aswell as "Bandits". I actually think they just played the songs available for download on their website.

Overall REV & Makers were pretty good. Miles better live than their dumbed down demo versions.

The Little Flames were, well absolutely shite. The only bareable part is when the lead guitarist got into a riff, but then he usually pissed it up into just being "noise". The lead singer sounded like a cat screaming half the time. Not my cup of tea but that night no one was moving when they came on. I couldn't distinguish between songs at all.

Anyway onto the main act. The Arctic Monkeys came on around 9.30 10ish after lots of suspense. The sound checking took way too long.

Setlist Ran;
Riot Van'
'View From the Afternoon'
'Cigarette Smoker Fiona'
'Mardy Bum'
'Still Take You Home'
'Who The Fuck Are Arctic Monkeys?'
'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor'
'Perhaps Vampires Is A Bit Strong But'
'Dancing Shoes'
'Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured'
'Leave Before The Lights Come On'
'When The Sun Goes Down'
'Fake Tales Of San Francisco'
'From The Ritz To The Rubble'
'A Certain Romance'

Obviously the normal setlist but....

With the exception of a brawl in the middle of the crowd 2 yards away from me and the fucking idiots who kept throwing beer on me and saying "we want oasis, we want oasis, I paid for oasis, when's oasis coming on?" and the knob heads who decided to kick in the guy who fell on the floor, the gig went well ans was pretty much amazing.

Alex was kind of quiet only saying the odd line between songs.
Also, Helders was sporting a new hair cut which I never realised he'd had. He had a skinhead which was cool.

Anyway, I forgot my camera like a cock and so I have no high quality pictures to show you. I have some on my fone but I need to find out the cable for it and as soon as I do, you will see them.

Hi-de-ho

Sounds fun.

I didn't go even though I live in Hull (obviously) because tickets were a right bastard to get- how'd you get 'em? Anyhoo, sorry about the fight and stuff (on behalf of all hully gully's) some people from round here are just plain dickheads, but that kinda thing comeswith the territory with these kinda gigs!

lol I know, that was just an extreme case. The hustle and bustle I am fine with, it makes a gig, but the fight was too far.

Got them in the pre-sale AGES ago
Touts were there too outside buying and selling tickets as always.

No Lack of banter I assure you, it was crazy, I've never seen a crowd so up for it. But the were about 10 knob heads who spoilt it a bit. It was still ace though :D

1st time i have seen them live and unfortunately the dickheads in the crowd nearly ruined it for me i am from hull myself and realised that the town is populated by a lot of idiots.

The thing that really annoyed me was the fact that it was poorly organised and we waited at the front of the queue 4 hours and they let people in the side doors who had only been there 5 mins also i find it utterly pointless serving alcohol at these types of gigs. And the football chants just made us look sound like yokel scum but there u go.

Sorry about the rant needed 2 get it of my chest!!!! :D
