posted this on ritz's forum, so i thought id do it here too

parently, the name (for the album title) comes from a quote by albert finney in the 1960 film, Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, about life in the industrial english midlands

The quote by Finney, who plays the character 'Arthur Seaton':

Mam called me barmy when I told her I fell of a gasometer for a bet. But I'm not barmy, I'm a fighting pit prop that wants a pint of beer, that's me. But if any knowing bastard says that's me I'll tell them I'm a dynamite dealer waiting to blow the factory to kingdom come. Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not because they don't know a bloody thing about me! God knows what I am.

just a thought, do you reckon the monkeys will record the album like most bands do and have it professionally produced or hopefully, like the Libertines give it that raw edge that is lacking in most albums. I know most of the tracks we've heard have that sound and its amazing and i would rather hear that on the album than a polished version of the tracks.

Any other thoughts or am i speaking pish?

No i do agree with you. Its like bigger boys..I well prefered it before it was the fully produced B side thing if that makes any sense whatsoever...

Glad you agree. They could prob stick with the demos and it would be great, just worried the record company want a highly polished clean sound for the album so it sells in the more mainstream market. Its definately that raw, almost live, sound that makes them a bit different

Its much better than the final i think. It has a few different lyrics as well and generally sounds less perfect and therefore better. I can send it you if you want it or anythink.
