Monkeys gear

Postby kino » Thu Dec 29, 2005 1:37 am

Hey mates,
here's the gear i saw when they played live in my hometown Bordeaux, France!

Both guitars are US made i guess.

Alex's got a White Cream Fender Stratocaster plugged into an Orange tube amp (maybe 50-60 Watts). He must be using a disto pedal (like the boss ds-1) when he needs to boost his sound. Otherwise he's playing on the disto channel, but with little gain (so that he's got this "crunch" sound). And at times he switches to the clean channel.

Jammie plays on a Red Cherry Fender Telecaster plugged into a Hi-Watt tube amp (smaller than Alex's : 40-50 Watt). Pete Townshend has always ben using Hi-Watt tube amps. Jammie's got a disto pedal too but i don't know which one.

I'm pretty sure only Jammie uses another type of pedal (like chorus or something) because the sound they've ot on stage is the exact replica of the one you hear on the album : raw and direct.

I hope i've been helping with my message!

Definitive Jammie's FX

Jammie's using a Telecaster, often the Candy Apple Red US made (otherwise a White Tele)

1. a BOSS chromatic tuner

2. a MXR M-104 disto/fuzz pedal

3. the infamous Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi heavy-disto pedal

4. a Electro Harmonix Pulsar tremolo pedal

5. everything plugged into the Hi-Watt Studio/Stage MKII combo (with two 12" cabinets)

Now it's Alex's turn (but i ain't got pics yet!)
