Was at Washington 9.30 Club - awesome show!

Hey,

I was at the gig in Washington on Monday night, I thought it was a great gig. I travelled from Scotland to go to this show and loved every minute. I've got some great photos that I'll post if someone can tell me how to upload them. This was the third time I've seen the Monkeys - I saw them in Glasgow and also went to Hamburg to see them at the start of March. (I've got some great photos from that also that I'll upload)

I'd say the Hamburg show at Grosse Freiheit was the best I've seen - it was crazy. But I was really pleased with the Washington gig - the fans seemed to be really into it - certainly at the front anyways. Chances are you've probably listened to the D.C. gig anyways as it was broadcast live - the atmosphere was great.

Going to see them in Glasgow on the 14th of April too. :) Should be fun.

Great, thanks for the info arctic.

Yeah, the flight took a while, bout 7 hours to NY. I went with a mate - we spent 3 days in New York beforehand, then went down to Washington on the day of the gig. We actually went along to the Webster Hall on the Saturday nite, where they were also playing - we thought we might be able to pick up a couple tickets on the cheap - but to no avail. There were a load of people looking for tickets, and pretty much none being sold by anyone.

I phoned the Webster Hall on the Saturday afternoon just to check. The phone conversation was pretty funny. It went like this:

*Ring*
Me: Is this the Webster Hall?

Guy at Webster Hall: What do you want to know about Arctic Monkeys? (even though I hadn't said nowt :)

Me: I was wondering if there were any tickets?

Guy at Webster Hall: Are you kidding me? This is the most sold out show ever!

I thought it was pretty funny. :)

These are a couple of pictures I took at the Washington 9.30 Club gig -

To me though, the Hamburg gig was the best I've been to. Probably one of the best gigs I've been to, period. It was pretty crazy, and there were loads of people there from the UK. Here's a couple of photos I took from the Hamburg gig... hope you like.
